Behindthename.com is an etomology website that could be used as a creative tool in a Language Arts or Reading rooms. When reading a story in which the setting is foreign, the teacher could have students look up the names of the characters in the story using this website and learn about the origin of the names. Additionally, the students could look up their own names or the names of their family members as a fun factor. As a teacher, you could also have students look up other names based on the location of the story and have them change the names of the characters to whatever they choose. This gives them a sense of ownership and responsibily to the story and makes the lesson more interesting. I think the main goal of Behindthename is to education visitors on the historical background of certain names so that they can make furthure connections with what they are researching based on the origins of key persons names.
